About UniFundFinder

What is UniFundFinder?

UniFundFinder is the UK's first open-access matching engine for university scholarships, bursaries, and hardship funds. We index funding opportunities from across 10+ UK universities and external charities, then match them to your specific profile, including your course, income, circumstances, and achievements.

How It Works

  1. 1Complete our questionnaire. It takes under 5 minutes and covers your studies, finances, and circumstances.
  2. 2Our matching engine instantly scores you against every fund in our database, checking eligibility criteria like nationality, income, course, and personal circumstances.
  3. 3You see a personalised dashboard with ranked matches: Best Matches, Worth Applying, and Long Shots, with direct links to apply.

Why We're Different

Comprehensive coverage – we index every university, not just partners. No fund gets hidden.
Hardship funds included – most platforms only list scholarships. We also surface emergency hardship funds that many students don't know about.
Personalised matching – not just a search engine. Our matching considers your full profile to surface what you actually qualify for.
Completely free – no freemium model, no paywalls. Students access everything for free, forever.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it really free?

Yes, always. UniFundFinder is free for students and always will be. No catches, no paywalls, no premium tiers.

How do you make money?

Universities and sponsors pay for visibility and analytics tools. Students never pay.

How accurate is the matching?

We match based on published eligibility criteria from official sources. Our matching engine checks nationality, university, study level, income, and personal circumstances. Always check the fund details before applying.

How often is the data updated?

We verify fund information weekly against official university and charity sources. Each fund listing shows when it was last verified.

Can I trust this?

We're independent and neutral. We index every UK university regardless of partnership status. Our data comes directly from official sources.

A Note from the Creator

I created UniFundFinder because I know how difficult it is to find funding while at University. I had a hard time locating options for funding and didn't realise I qualified for the University of Exeter's hardship fund. After eventually applying in second year, it gave me access to ~£7,500 I didn't need to pay back.

This helped massively while I was struggling financially and going through health issues. A bunch of my friends similarly missed out on funding they likely would've qualified for!

While testing this tool out, my younger brother was able to secure some hardship funding at his university, and it's now accessible to anyone who might need help looking for funding!
